Art is the only thing I have ever really wanted to do. Being an artist has been my dream from the very beginning. I have never wanted to get rich from my artwork. Instead, I want to be able to make enough to be able to give it away. I believe art brings people together. It heals, it brightens the world. Case Art isn't just another art store, it is my way of helping others through art.
Cherry burl from a tree found in the woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It is so very unique because no two burls are ever the same. A burl is created because of growth of abnormal cells in the tree. Usually from an injury, fungus or insect. This burl was from a young cherry tree that had unfortunately died. I put little, white, natural crystals in the holes created by insects and it has been poured with clear epoxy. Epoxy will react to heat a bit so don't be surprised by a ring left from your coffee cup. But don't worry, it melts away like it was never there. Crystals are from up in the Larimer range of south eastern Wyoming. Coaster has clear rubber feet to protect your surfaces and is approximately 6 x 4 x .5 inches.
No matter where life takes me, I vow to never stop using my art to help others. The talents we are given are meant to be cultivated and to be used to improve the lives of our fellow humans. It is a greater gift to give of these talents than it is to use them simply for personal gain.
